BEAUTY REVIEW: JULIETTE ARMAND OPSIS THERAPY LIFT ANTI-WRINKLE EYE CREAM

The Juliette Armand Company was founded in Greece by two chemists, who wanted to research new innovative and effective formulas in the beauty industry. I’ve been trying out their Opsis Therapy Lift Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream.

Fitting with the company’s scientific background, their eye cream is packaged in a faux syringe. It looks very attractive; but isn’t the most practical or compact of designs. I’ve found the product itself, however, very effective.

The Juliette Armand Opsis Therapy Lift Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream is designed to tackle wrinkles and dark circles in the eye contour area. The formula has been developed with this area’s delicacy in mind, to combat swelling and dehydration in the area through the stimulation of cell function.

Whilst I have no wrinkles, I do suffer from dark circles and bags under my eyes, and this cream has significantly improved these and made my eye area look awake, smooth and refreshed. I am also confident that my continued use of this cream will be an effective wrinkle deterrent.

I would definitely recommend this product if you have any of these issues with the skin around your eyes. It’s scentless and has a very pleasant, non-greasy texture.

My skin hates winter. With a passion. My skin gets extremely sensitive and does not like the constant drop and rise in temperature and the harsh winter wind. Think dry, blotchy, red, scaly. Not a pretty sight.

Botox Facial??!! – Juliette Armand Skin Boosters

”Your appointment with plastic surgery is postponed” is the tagline for these Juliette Armand Skin Booster facials. And you know what? They are right!

I jumped at the chance to try out the non-invasive treatment at Creative Spa as it’s a popular subject with my clients. People are so afraid of botox now after hearing a number of horror stories about the wrong stuff being injected or allergic reactions. So, a facial that offers similar results to botox was right up my street. Plus there’s not much I’d say no to except maybe a colonic irrigation off an enemy.

Now, I am not saying I am an old leather bag, yet(!), or anything but I am definitely starting to see the signs of aging. My eye area, around my lips and even my forehead. I definitely laugh way too much, and I kind of smile like the mask from the Saw movies.

The one giveaway sign of way too much botox, I feel, is a big shiny forehead coupled with the lack of movement in said forehead or general facial expressions.

No, I am sad, really sad… Can’t you tell?

The Skin Booster system is parabens free, propylene glycol free, mineral oil free and allergen free. It uses active ingredients to work deep down into your muscles in order to stop them contracting and causing wrinkles. Botox will just work on your muscle, where the Skin Boosters improve the appearance of your skin too.

Kim was my therapist for the day and she told me that my prescriptive treatment would be the Thavma facial. This facial is particularly good for Under 45’s. You can also opt into a Chronos or Opsis facial depending on your age and needs, there’s something for everyone. Thavma Therapy is based on the EFFECTOX ™(You know shiz is good when they trademark a name!!!) technology that inhibits the mechanism that is responsible for the creation of expression lines and wrinkles. But there’s more: it also offers protection from the main types of aging.

The Thavma serum that is placed on your skin during the facial works deep down into the cells, it kind of feels like pins and needles all over your face. It’s not remotely uncomfortable though, in case you think I am signing you up for some sadistic acupuncture. As soon as this serum is placed onto your skin, it gets to work. It stimulates the blood flow to create new cells and to give your skin a more youthful appearance.

The cream that works on your lines and wrinkles specifically is in a syringe format but rest assured, it’s not a syringe. It’s a cream placed into the wrinkles of your skin to get to work.The Thavma cream smells lovely too, it smells like a Banana yogurt. Yes, the temptation to lick my own face was quite strong.

On top of all this, the hands that delivered the facial and the massage while the serum did it’s work were amazing. Kim is an exceptional masseuse as she even eased as out tension knot in my back. It helps too that’s she very funny and very clear about each step that she performs on you.

When I got home, my other half commented that my eyes looked bigger or ”lifted” and this is huge, as he usually says I look like Lucy Liu’s paler blonde cousin. My skin looked plump, fresh and youthful. I could see the blood had rushed to my cheeks too as it worked to produce new cells and I rarely change colour on my face, I’m like something out of Twilight. My cheeks felt plumper too and my forehead was smooth. I looked like I’d just come out of the womb!

The facial lasts 45 minutes and it’s €80.00. While you might think this is a little pricey, when you see the results you’ll gladly pay the money. This would be fantastic for a bride or anyone who is half tempted by botox but is scared shitless of the risks. A course of 10 facials are recommended for maximum results, but you can see a massive difference after three.

TheIR are at home products available to use too if you just wanted one facial and then to use the creams. I think it’s time for me to invest in my face, so I am thinking of doing the exact same myself.

I recently tried the Juliette Armand anti-ageing facial which you can read all about here.

I was so impressed with the results that following the facial, I started to use the at home skincare products also.

I got the eye cream, face serum, moisturiser, cleanser and exfoliator. I have used them all apart from the cleanser and exfoliator, but that’s only because I’m currently in the middle of using another cleanser and exfoliator and I want to use them up before I start testing new stuff.

My favourites have got to be the Thavma lift anti-wrinkle serum and the Thavma lift anti-wrinkle moisturiser. After applying both products, my skin feels so hydrated, and the moisturiser gives a really dewy effect too! I think the best thing about them is that they are quite firming. I have been using the products for around two months now, and my skin is glowing.

My favouite product has to be the moisturiser and the funny thing is, I was a bit unsure about it at first. It is quite thin in texture, and I usually tend to prefer a thick moisturiser, so I didn’t know if I would take to it. Once I started using it, I genuinely grew to love its thin, watery consistency. It’s not oily, it dries in so fast and there’s no residue left behind either.

It’s also a good product for the guys to try. Dylan was using some of mine while we were away and he loved it as much as I did, especially because it doesn’t feel oily or residue like on the skin! I ran out of it over in the Caribbean on my fourth day or so and I can definitely notice a difference in my skin since I stopped using it. I actually have more on order.

The visible difference the products have made to my skin totally won me over. The serum and the moisturiser really impressed me. They work by using the Effectox technology which in turn slows down the muscle contractions of my skin, meaning when I laugh, frown, smile and squint, the lines don’t crease up as much! They also contain Leuphasyl which relaxes the muscle along with avocado oil, Vitamin A and E.

When I have tried the Cleaser (Sensitive Cleansing Gel) and exfoliator (Preparator Lotion), I will let you guys know what I think of it!

As you know, I bought the Dr Murad range about a month before I tried the Juliette Armand brand, and while I absolutely loved it, I can honestly say that if I had to choose between the two, Juliette Armand is hands down my favourite at the moment!

Juliette Armand Therapist of the Month: May 2015

It gives me great pleasure to announce the winner of the inaugural Therapist of the Month Award for Abi Baronetti. Abi has been a beauty therapist for 4 years and has been working at The Buff Day Spa for 2 years now. We asked Abi a few questions about being a therapist and the Juliette Armand skincare range and here is what she had to say:

What do you enjoy most about being a spa therapist?

I love being a spa therapist for many reasons. The part that fulfils me the most is helping clients make changes to their skin. Our skin makes a big impact on our confidence and being able to help someone improve their skin and therefore, their confidence, is the most rewarding feeling.

What’s the most important thing about working as a spa therapist to you?

The most important thing would be to make sure you are delivering the correct treatment to meet your client’s needs.

What is your favourite Juliette Armand treatment to give?

Chronos Therapy is my favourite so far.

The results are unreal and the treatment is so relaxing for the client at the same time. It includes a 4 dimensional approach to treating biological aging which visibly improves the skin from the first treatment.

Which Juliette Armand treatment do you wish you would receive and why?

I would love to receive the vitamin C Therapy. Its so brightening and hydrating and helps fade pigmentation which is one of my concerns from growing up is South Africa.

What separates your spa from others?

I am so proud to be part of The Buff Day Spa team. We take our treatments to the next level by not only treating our client’s concerns in the treatment room but also educating them on how they can reach their skin’s potential and help them to become happier in their own skin. I have learned more in The Buff Day Spa than anywhere else and thats because education and training is offered on an ongoing basis so we are continuously improving our knowledge.

What is your favourite Juliette Armand product and why?

I am really love the Hyaluronic Acid Serum right now. My skin drinks it up so easily and it instantly hydrates any skin type. My skin gets very dehydrated and tight but since i started using this serum I haven’t felt tightness at all.

What is the best comment that you have heard a customer exclaim after a Juliette Armand treatment?

After a Chronos Therapy my client took a look in the mirror and said that she had never seen her skin look so good after any other facial she had had.
