My Night Time Skincare Routine – Suzanne Jackson

I don’t know about you, but I find snapping so addictive. I’m always on it! Anyway, here are all the details of my nightly skincare routine.

Before I start with my fave products, if I could give you ONE tip – it would be to ensure you remove your makeup every night.

Even if I’ve had a few drinks, I will make sure I remove my makeup. Now dont say this too loud, shhhh…. but use a wipe if you absolutely have too.. ahh I HATE them, but your makeup is better off than on at night time! So try and get into the habit! ……………..

As you all know, I’m a big fan of the Juliette Armand range, you can red my review here. As part of my night time routine, I use their Thavma moisturiser and eye cream.

I have been using this brand for 4 months now and the results have been brilliant. I’m on my second jar and by the looks of it, I’ll be onto my third very soon as my current one is nearly all out! I use it every morning and night without fail.

For eye cream, I use a pea sized amount of my Juliette Armand Opsis Lift Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream. It’s so good and because you only need to use a tiny amount, it lasts for ages too.

Once a month, I use the Juliette Armand exfoliator. I also have the Juliette Armand Cleanser Gel but I tend to prefer a cleansing milk.

From time to time though, Dylan will use the cleansing gel whenever his skin is feeling a little greasy. He prefers gels to milks, and he finds this one particularly good.

So there you have it guys, my full night time skincare routine!

Juliette Armand Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Hyaluronic Acid Serum*: £32.50 /€39

At first look when I read ‘hyaluronic acid’, I instantly thought “that is definitely not going onto my face” or “is that going to burn or peel my skin off?” and I couldn’t have been anymore wrong! Hyaluronic acid is actually a stuctural component of the connective tissue of the skin. Not the corrosive acid you would have used in your Science lessons (10 years ago for me now – showing my age!). It is said to retain up to 1000 times its weight in water, which is gradually released, thus enhancing skin moisture. Hyaluronic acid is a biomolecule with a strong moisturising and firming effect on the skin. This type of product is pretty much suited to all skin types, including my own which is oily/combination. This product mainly focuses on the de-hydration of the skin and it’s age group is primarily 30 – 60+, although I am only 25 going on 26, it is never too early to start aging treatments on your skin.

The recommended dose each time for this serum is 1mm each time, although I perhaps may have applied a little bit more than that each time. I would normally just squeeze the pipette and put the product on the back of my hand before applying. It would essentially be the size of a 5 pence piece and was of a gel-like texture, it was just a really wet serum which I blended over the skin and worked it in very well, until my skin absorbed the product, which was quite quick. I like this product because it doesn’t leave a greasy after feeling and it feels as though you hadn’t of just applied product in the first place. I had been noticing before hand, a few fine lines around the face that had started to appear, now after using this serum, they are a lot less visible. My face looks a lot firmer than it was and it is finally regaining it’s youth, although I do look quite young for my age anyways. Everyone is always shocked when I am to tell them that I am 25 years old and 26 in a couple of months. The product works with the natural collagen in the skin and keeps everything in check, reinforcing the skin texture and restoring the skins moisture balance and vigour.

This little 20ml pot of serum is a little bit pricey, coming in at an eye watering price of £32.50, so bit of a high end product. I normally wouldn’t be too swayed over the price, as I wouldn’t want to spend nearly as much as that on 20ml of product and considering you use 1ml per application anyways, that is only 20 applications in one pot. But for how good this product actually is and how my skin has been looking these past couple of weeks, the price doesn’t seem the bother me. As the product actually works better than some anti-aging products, it is definitely a product worth the splurge.

I was lucky enough to have been treated to two Juliette Armand facials by Poise Brands recently – one facial was an anti-ageing treatment, and the other was a custom facial to cater for my skin’s current needs.

I hadn’t heard much about the Juliette Armand brand before my first facial, so I was keen to experience the products and see the results. Khadeeja Khan, the owner of Beauty Indulgence Spa, made sure I was comfy and warm – really living up to the spa’s tagline of “You deserve to be pampered” – before she began my first facial.

BOTOX WITHOUT NEEDLES BY JULIETTE ARMAND

It’s no secret that I am well past the first bloom of youth. I do not hide my age. I am proud of it, of who I am and what I have achieved. I have spent my life living every moment to the max and have loved every moment of it.

Recently though, as I look in the mirror, I can see that the fine lines I developed in my mid thirties have started to get deeper, and my skin is less firm than it was. As a beauty blogger, I spend a lot of time applying makeup and it is important to me that my skin is in the best possible condition, as it is the canvas for the cosmetics I use. As a result, I have started to think about more radical solutions like Botox, as I have had great results with lip fillers in the past (read my post about that here).

Luckily though, just as I was starting to research Botox, I was contacted and asked if I would like to review a new skincare product by Juliette Armand. I have to admit this wasn’t a brand I had heard of, so I did a quick google search and was super chuffed to read that the Juliette Armand brand produce a unique skin care range called Skin Boosters which offer five products said to deliver results equivalent to those normally associated with cosmetic surgery.

The product I was sent was the Lift Anti Wrinkle Cream from the Thavmia Miracle Therapy range which claims to erase wrinkles by using a technology called EFFECTOX to inhibit the facial movement which cause them – Botox without needles – sounds PERFECT!!!

I have been using the product night and morning every day for almost a month and am finally ready to share my thoughts with you.

PACKAGING

I really like the look and feel of the packaging. Orange is one of my favourite colours (I wrote a whole post about orange lipsticks here) and I love the almost rubberised finish. I do worry that a pot of face cream will harbour shedloads of bacteria so a little spatula might have been a nice touch – but its fine, I use a cotton bud.

FRAGRANCE

I absolutely love the fresh orange scent of this cream, when I apply it, I find myself breathing it in deeply for an almost aromatherapy type lift in my mood – simply put it wakes me up and makes me feel happy.

TEXTURE

I was really surprised by the texture of this product. Most anti-ageing creams are quite thick and greasy on the skin but not this one. The texture of this is really light and a pleasure to apply. I want to say it absorbs easily, because it certainly doesn’t sit heavy on the skin but it is so incredibly hydrating and nourishing that I could still feel it hours after I had applied it.

RESULTS

So the bit you’ve all been waiting for, did it work? Did it erase all signs of ageing? Do I look 21 again? Well no!

But – and this is important – my skin looks better than it has for years. Seriously, in the last week or two, I have had more compliments about my skin than I have for years. My super glam 21 year old daughter, without knowing I had changed my routine, has said several times this week that my makeup looked beautiful and I actually went to work one day this week with no foundation on – and no-one asked if I was okay!!! That is a result in my book!

I have never had Botox so it is hard for me to compare these results with the results that Botox offers but if it is younger, fresher looking skin without needles that you are looking for then I highly recommend you give this product a try.

Juliette Armand is a skincare brand that I have become more and more fond of with every product that I try. I used the last drop of my Vitamins Complex Serum last night and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of their serums.

I was invited to experience a Juliette Armand facial treatment which included a Phyto Peel, and being obsessed with facial peels, I was not going to let an offer like that slip through my fingers.

What I find extremely interesting about this brand and the therapies, is that your treatment is based on your skin’s mood.

On the day of my treatment, I could only describe my skin as being ‘angry’. My skin was going through a sensitive phase (what’s new?) and I was suffering from dry and scaly patches, combined with my usually oily T-zone. That’s why I say, angry.

The therapist (who I might add is the Juliette Armand Product Educator) was amazing and I felt truly pampered. Pampered whilst having a face peel you ask? Yes. This was the most relaxing facial peel I have ever experienced. No stinging or irritation at all. It felt more like a facial scrub than anything else.

The Juliette Armand Phyto Peel is a professional powder mask from the Elements range.

It specifically targets sebum and oiliness, but it is also suited for normal and dry skin as it regenerates and rejuvenates.

‘Its 20% content of the dried plants Spongilla, Fragilis and Ephydatia combined with kaolin deeply cleanses the skin, regulate oiliness and stimulate the skin’s natural repair process.’

My skin felt soft and smooth after the treatment and I am happy to report that there was absolutely no downtime. I should have planned a date night as my skin was glowing. I highly recommend this peel and I can assure you that even the most sensitive skin would love and appreciate this treatment.

The winner of June 2015 Juliette Armand Therapist of the month is Kim McDonnell from Creative Spa in Ballymount, Dublin 24. We ask Kim a few questions about being a therapist and the Juliette Armand skincare range and this is what she had to say:

What do you enjoy most about being a Spa Therapist?

There are so many reasons why I enjoy being a spa therapist, but the main reason being is that my clients trust in me to fulfil there spa treatments for their needs. Which gives me a great pleasure to do so.

What’s the most important thing about working as a Spa Therapist to you?

There are many important parts of working as a spa therapist but most important 1 to me would be to understanding your clients and their skins needs. Then once you see your client happy and delighted after seeing the results that can be achieved, that puts a smile on my face to knowing that iv boasted their confidence too.

What is your favourite Juliette Armand treatment to give?

I love to do the Thavma treatment, because I love the whole concept of slowing your muscle reaction down so your fine lines or wrinkled after aren’t as visible your treatment as the results are visible after 1 treatment. I LOVE it!!

Which Juliette Armand treatment do you wish that you would receive and why?

I would love to receive an opsis eye treatment.

Because I suffer with dark circles and bags under my eyes, I find the opsis eye treatment lifts and brightens up the eye area as if you’ve had about a months sleep!!

Its amazing.

What separates your Spa from others?

I love being part of our highly skilled team at Creative Spa, they offer us educational training constantly that way we can keep up with all the latest trends although our spa has been in business for over 20 years, but in the last 7 years we have moved down to Fashion City which is really accessible to the m50/n7/n4/luas/bus you can assure to see our first few clients from when we opened our doors 20+ years ago to walk in the door which means a lot to us, were like a big huge family at Creative Spa.

Also with our free parking it’s great that our clients can relax for the whole day knowing that they don’t have to be running out to their cars to pay the metre.

What is your favourite Juliette Armand product and why?

I love the vitality cream mask.

It’s magic in a bottle! It revitalises, tones and moisturises the skin along with vitamins A, E and F. Best results would be before bed to walk up fabulous.

What is the best comment that you have heard a customer exclaim after a Juliette Armand treatment?

The best reaction and comment as such I have heard after a Chronos facial was from a client “Have you tampered with the mirrors in the changing rooms because that doesn’t look like my skin, because I look 10 years younger and feel amazing”

{Review} – Juliette Armand Caviar for the skin …ooh la la!

I received this awesome skin care product from Juliette Armand SA around Mother’s Day , it took me sometime to get to testing this treasure and I am sure glad I took my time.I have tried products by Juliette Armand previously (eye care and CC Cream) and have always been rather impressed.Juliette Armand is a skin care brand hailing from Greece and really does stand out with their unique concepts of treating the ‘moods’ of the skin as well as targeting specific skin concerns.

This Caviar Fluid is a serum which targets anti-aging and truly is a ‘Creme-De-La-Creme’ of skin care indulgences.

Let’s delve deeper …

So here is what I thought …

Packaging –

The packaging is a great white plastic airless pump, it measures out the perfect ‘dose’ for your skin in one small pump. I love the regal purple branding of this range.

Fragrance –

The fragrance is pleasant but nothing that I can really give a name to , it does not linger on the skin and is totally unobtrusive which to me is always a great plus for daytime wear.

Texture –

The texture is that of a soft silky and slightly milky serum which leaves a light tackiness on the surface of the skin after application.

Efficacy –

I am impressed with how my skin feels using these products, I have had a lovely dewy feel to the surface of my skin and the hydration levels have definitely improved. It penetrates into the skin quickly and definitely minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.

Juliette Armand offer quality skin care solutions , their prices are average for a salon range and the results speak for themselves. I have enjoyed using this product and would gladly recommend it to anyone wanting a boost for their skin or a well planned spoil.From the brand …
