Juliette Armand Therapist of the Month: August 2016

August’s Therapist of the month is Jennifer McEvoy, who qualified from Galligans Beauty Collage in 2005 and after working in various beauty salons, this time last year she opened up her own lovely salon in Portmarnock, Co Dublin. She also did an amazing treatment on Xpose writer, Tatum Rooney, which you can read more about here.

What made you want to set up your own business?

It’s something I have always wanted to do. From the first salon I worked in I made notes of what I liked or didn’t like and did that everywhere I worked. I watched the other salon owners and learned from them so I have a good foundation for when I finally opened up

What sets Blush Beauty out over its competitors?

The staff I work with are amazing, they love their job as much as I do and treat the salon and clients as if it was their own. We also use fantastic brands that have a good reputation, with the likes of waxing we don’t double dip and are trained to the highest standard. All these factors I feel give us an edge, within an year we have built a bond with our clients.

Please tell me about your most rewarding or satisfying experience, your proudest moment, since you set up Blush Beauty?

On the 4th of August the salon was open a year. It was the first time since opening that I realised Ive made my dream a reality. the success of the business. To have made it through the first year to me was amazing, I spent so much time trying to set up I didnt think it would happen.

What do you enjoy most about being a Therapist?

I love skin care so helping clients see results is my main aim. I give 100% to every treatment and treat clients as if it was me on the bed.

What’s the most important thing about working as a Therapist to you?

I feel women spend their lives looking after other people and I respect the time and money they spend with us. So when they do visit I enjoy pampering them and making the treatment an experience

What is your favorite Juliette Armand treatment to give?

I absolutely adore the Chronos treatment. I’ve had fantastic results.

Which Juliette Armand treatment do you wish that you would receive and why?

For me I results are so important, every time I have a Thavma I feel amazing, I can go without make up which I never do.

What do you think makes Juliette Armand Skincare range stand out from other skincare ranges?

The research that goes into the treatments and that the products are active. These were the reasons I took it into the salon. I had the Thavma and was sold there and then.

What is your favorite Juliette Armand product and why?

I love the Thavma serum. It had active ingredients and leaves my skin so soft, I haven’t had any dehydration issues since I’ve started using it.

What is the best comment that you have heard a customer exclaim after a Juliette Armand treatment?

I had a client come into me to tell me someone thought she had had work done. I was delighted, we had completed a course of Chronos and she gets monthly top ups of it, she uses the creams so it was great to get such an amazing complement for her.

What would you say to anyone thinking about using this range?

Just do it, Its a lovely treatment for both therapists and clients.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Honestly its treat people as you would want to be treated, I bring this into my personal life and my business.

What book did you read last?

A client recommended About Face to me, its by two Irish women and they go through all things beauty. Its a brilliant read for people who just don’t know what products are for and an interesting read for therapists.

What did you want to be when growing up?

A make up artist so I’m not that far off. I do loads of make up in the salon.

What do you like to do on your days off?

At the moment my days off still consist of salon set up, researching products, going to other salons. I love Giraffes so I love the Zoo. I’m also a fan of the outdoors, anything active and eating.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I get up and ready for work. I go straight to the salon and I give myself 15 minutes to plan my day (half an hour on Mondays), I set up for treatments and get to work.

I try not to do treatments every day so I can get the other side of my job done.

I check out some social media accounts to see if anything had been said about any of the brands I follow, I love Jennifer Rock she’s a wealth of information so she is always on my list.

After work I go home eat, try make a gym session or go for a walk and I love reading and I find it helps me switch off, Then I go to bed. If it’s the weekend Ill catch up with friends go walking or for dinner.

You’re happiest when?

I’m outdoors or cuddling my new nephew.
